Future Forum - Learning by Design

Wow… so where to start…

On my first trip to Adelaide (and definitely not my last), I had the opportunity to be involved in the first Future Forum event of 2021 - Learning by Design.

Sponsored and enabled by Das Studio, Sensum, and Sarah Constructions…

Entering the venue my mind was mulling over the types of ideas we might hear… types of spaces and how they support or detract from learning… or maybe how does design enable learning…

Well…

The keynote for the evening… an awesome, passionate, innovative, collaborative (add many other positive descriptive words) Louka Parry took to the stage and had me in

'Awe and Wonder'.

I am certain that of the 200+ who joined the event, we all were challenged by different things… but here are my key takeaways...

Wellbeing by Design

What is your compass? Or are you following a predetermined map drawn by someone else?

Reimagining what success is.. In learning… but also in the workplace and life

Asking the right questions

The future of learning in the unknown world….

Collective thinking

World Overshoot Day

Challenge…to not leave a legacy that is unsolvable…

But

to be good ancestors

I have never considered myself as a future ancestor....

Helping not only students, but everyone to ask the questions…

  • What do I like to do?

  • What can I be paid for?

  • Where can I contribute?

How to define who we are in the changing world

So much (and more) to unpack… and I haven't touched on the great panel discussion.

So walking out of the venue … I have been challenged to ask and appreciate the why of learning to then enable us to support the how and where…

Thank you Dino for the vision to create such a discussion and to the Panel for sharing your wisdom and experience.
